Leading media outlets reported on Silver Golub & Teitell's class action lawsuit to protect residents from PFAS state residents from PFAS chemicals emitted by a Kimberly-Clark plant in New Milford, Connecticut. Reuters, the Guardian, the Houston Chronicle, the Hartford Business Journal, WSHU Public Radio, News12 Connecticut, Law360 and the Connecticut Law Tribune all reported on the lawsuit, which SGT filed on February 28 in federal court in Connecticut.
The complaint alleges that Kimberly-Clark, which is based in Irving, Texas, discharged and distributed per- and polyfuoralkyl substances (PFAS) from emissions stacks and a landfill at its New Milford plant, contaminating the drinking water supplies of the plaintiffs and other members of the proposed class. The exposure substantially increased their risk of developing cancers and other diseases linked to PFAS, according to the complaint.
"We believe, as the complaint alleges, that these PFAS chemicals were incinerated and made their way into the emissions that were released from the stacks at this facility," Silver Golub & Teitell partner Ian Sloss told Law360. "Once they went airborne, these chemicals were transported and deposited on the soil of our clients' properties and from there migrated down to the drinking well water on our clients' properties," he said.
Mr. Sloss is representing the plaintiffs along with counsel John Seredynski and associates Krystyna Gancoss and Kate Sayed.
