Reuters, Law360, the Connecticut Law Tribune and The Hour reported on Silver Golub & Teitell's class action lawsuit for Connecticut firefighters who have been endangered by PFAS chemicals contained in their turnout gear.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in the District of Connecticut on June 25, seeks to hold the makers and sellers of the chemicals and the protective gear, including 3M, DuPont and others, accountable for producing firefighter gear contaminated with PFAS, a known carcinogen.
"They work in harm's way every day, facing the possibility that they might be killed in the line of duty, but none of them expect to be sickened by the turnout gear that is given to protect them," SGT counsel Jennifer Sclar told the Connecticut Law Tribune.
